Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities

From time to time the opportunity comes up for a rewarding volunteer leadership role in one of our communities. This is a chance to give back by leading a local Bellyful branch, or taking on another key role.

All Bellyful volunteers must be Police vetted, and we ask that you also be vaccinated against COVID-19, Measles and Whooping Cough (Pertussis). Find out more on our Become A Volunteer page.

Delivery Volunteers – Hibiscus Coast

Our branch is looking for delivery volunteers who live in the Gulf Harbour or Army Bay area.

Working with our Recipient Coordinator, you get to collect and deliver our frozen meals to the whānau who need them. All you need is a vehicle, a driver’s licence, the ability to find your way around your community – and of course a friendly face! The time commitment for a delivery volunteer is entirely up to you and what you can give.

Cookathon Coordinator – Bellyful West Auckland

As our branch ‘Cookathon Coordinator’ you will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating and overseeing these monthly gatherings with the help of our very capable and friendly volunteer team. You most certainly don’t need to be a Masterchef, as all our meals are standard family staple favourites following easy to cook recipes.

You just need to be someone who is organised, fun, a good communicator, passionate about helping others and giving back to the community and who has a spare 12 hours or so (approx.) a month. Full training and support will be given of course, and this is a role that could be easily shared by a couple of people if preferred.

Please email [email protected] for further information – we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Delivery Volunteers – Bellyful Central Auckland

Our Bellyful Central Auckland branch is looking for delivery volunteers in the East Tamaki / Glendowie area.

Quite simply, if you are someone with a big heart, an easy-going, flexible approach to everything, and someone who enjoys meeting new people and giving back to the community, then we’d very much love to hear from you.

In addition, we are also looking for people to fill some leadership and administrative roles, to help ease the load in this vital and busy branch. There is no minimum number of hours. We are totally flexible and can accommodate any and all the help you can give.

If you are interested email Sally Warrender. Find out more about some of our volunteer roles here.

How do I know if being a Branch Coordinator is for me?

Do you like organising, making things hum, or are you a whiz at managing projects and people stuff?

Our Branch Coordinators are people who:

  • Love supporting and encouraging awesome volunteers
  • Enjoy making a real difference in your local community
  • Prefer to be part of an established charity that is well organised, known and trusted
  • Have some time to give others

Many of our Branch Coordinators work full or part time, some are retired or semi-retired, others are parents at home looking for a way to utilise their skills or develop new skills. The role involves recruiting, training and managing volunteers within your branch and ensuring all aspects of the branch are running smoothly. Each Bellyful branch has a core team of awesome volunteers, including people in key roles such as Cookathon and Delivery Coordinators.

Our Branch Coordinators work from home at times that suit their work and whānau commitments.

You don’t need to have been involved with Bellyful before – we give you great support. You’ll also get plenty of back-up from the fabulous branch volunteers, Bellyful NZ management and other Bellyful branches.
