Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities
From time to time the opportunity comes up for a rewarding volunteer leadership role in one of our communities. This is a chance to give back by leading a local Bellyful branch, or taking on another key role.
All Bellyful volunteers must be Police vetted, and we ask that you also be vaccinated against COVID-19, Measles and Whooping Cough (Pertussis). Find out more on our Become A Volunteer page.

Branch Coordinator – Bellyful Tauranga
We’re looking for a new volunteer branch co-leader for our rewarding local charity – can you help? Bellyful Tauranga cooks and delivers meals to whānau, with babies or young children, who need support. Finance/Grants Coordinator – Bellyful Tauranga
Our branch is the busiest in New Zealand and we would love support from someone to be our new volunteer Finance/Grants Coordinator. You’d monitor our branch’s bank accounts and work with our Bellyful NZ national support team to apply for local grants as and when needed. A finance background is ideal but not mandatory. It would take about three hours a month.
If you are interested please email [email protected] to have a chat or get more information.
Co-Cookathon Coordinator
Our Cookathons are lots of fun but also require planning, as we are churning out more than 400 meals each time. We’d love to spread the volunteer load with a new Co-Cookathon Coordinator. The Cookathon Coordinator ensures we have enough Cookathon volunteers and ensures health and safety and food safety requirements are adhered to. They also run the Cookathon, from making sure the ingredients are ordered to ensuring the kitchen is spotless afterwards! Cookathon Coordinators do not need to be chefs, but do need to be great organisers and communicators. This role takes a few hours a month.

How do I know if being a Branch Coordinator is for me?
Do you like organising, making things hum, or are you a whiz at managing projects and people stuff?
Our Branch Coordinators are people who:
- Love supporting and encouraging awesome volunteers
- Enjoy making a real difference in your local community
- Prefer to be part of an established charity that is well organised, known and trusted
- Have some time to give others
Many of our Branch Coordinators work full or part time, some are retired or semi-retired, others are parents at home looking for a way to utilise their skills or develop new skills. The role involves recruiting, training and managing volunteers within your branch and ensuring all aspects of the branch are running smoothly. Each Bellyful branch has a core team of awesome volunteers, including people in key roles such as Cookathon and Delivery Coordinators.
Our Branch Coordinators work from home at times that suit their work and whānau commitments.
You don’t need to have been involved with Bellyful before – we give you great support. You’ll also get plenty of back-up from the fabulous branch volunteers, Bellyful NZ management and other Bellyful branches.
